Old Australian

Australian Chess Clock, designed and produced by a Melburnian C.P.Lowe as a response to the Cecil Purdy´s heartrending appeal for reasonably priced chess clock (Australasian Chess Review, 1935). According to the same source, Mr. Lowe's article was used for all the events throughout the chess congress in Melbourne (…not a single mishap occurred to the mechanism of any of his clocks, nor was any complaint made). First known Ad dates from 1935. Exactly this piece belonged to Nikolai Ross, professional photographer and amateur chess player from Sydney.
